Summers in the Northern Hemisphere could last nearly six months by the year 2100 if global warming continues unchecked, according to a recent study. Scientists say the hotter, longer summers and the shrinking of the three other seasons could have a range of serious implications for human health, agriculture and the environment. The study's lead author, Yuping Guan, said he was surprised by the dramatic results of his team's projections. "For human well-being, I was really hoping these results were wrong." |
